Making mouth-watering ribs can be difficult, especially when there are so many different rub and sauce recipes floating around out there. If you think it would be so nice if there were a better way, this recipe it for you.
Caroline from What’s Caroline Marie Making Today, discovered an awesome new way to create the perfect ribs using one simple ingredient: a can of Dr. Pepper.
By placing the ribs in a crockpot, she has effectively created an easy way to make ribs that will simply fall right off the bone. The result is a fuss free, delicious meal.
She began by placing two slabs of ribs in her crockpot using a slow cooker liner to make the cleanup easier later.
Next, she poured one can of Dr. Pepper directly onto the ribs. Obviously, the soda piled up at the bottom, but this helped to keep the meat from drying out while it cooked.
She added salt and pepper to taste while preparing the meat as well.
Then, she left the cooker on low for eight hours before draining out the soda.
After the soda has been drained, she coated the meat in here sauce of choosing, Sweet Baby Ray’s.
The meat was then placed back into the crockpot on high for another hour.
After a little more waiting, the dish has been completed and the meat falls right off the bone.
Caroline added that if you don’t have a can of Dr. Pepper, using Coke as an alternative works just as well.
Now all you need is some napkins while you dig in!
